Welcome to International Spring Festival Website

The Lansdale Public Library’s 21st Annual International Spring Festival will be held on Saturday, April 21, 2012 at North Penn High School in Lansdale, PA from 11:00 AM - 5:00 PM. The festival is the library’s biggest program, and it is also one of the largest multi-cultural happenings in the state.

The Festival celebrates ethnic and cultural heritages through performances, food and cultural displays. There are plenty of free activities for children, including a passport program and crafts. Children can try ethnic costumes, food, musical instruments and art projects. Families, seniors and teens can mingle and learn from educational programs, displays and each other.

A free Health Fair is part of the Festival and will include free blood pressure, cholesterol and glucose screenings as well as interactive health education displays.

Free parking, admission, and entertainment on three stages for this all-volunteer organized, community sponsored annual event. Bring some money to purchase souvenirs and luscious cuisines sold from many different cultures. The food is a huge draw, and includes pizza and hot dogs for the less adventurous.

The performances are too good to miss. This year, the famous Voloshky’s Ukrainian Dance Ensemble will perform. Also performing this year is the award winning Universal African Dance and Drum Ensemble, and many more international singers and dancers. For more information and a detailed listing of performances, to be completed in March, visit http://www.internationalspringfestival.com

Last year, over 5000 people attended the festival which had 131 exhibits. Among expected nationality displays this year: China, Ireland, Korea, Ukraine, Taiwan, Poland, Nepal, Jordan, Germany, Israel, Malaysia, Jamaica, Peru, India, Argentina, Afghanistan, Nigeria, Philippines, and the list keeps growing. The United States will be represented in a historic colonial and Native American display.

If you would like to represent a country not listed here, please contact us. The International Spring Festival is even more fun if you are a volunteer on the day of the event. Consider sparing a few hours setting up (the night before the festival), assisting with children’s activities, staffing tables, or tearing down (immediately after festival) that would help tremendously.
